A summary and comparison of our Web Hosting Services against the competition
Here is a list of popular website hosting companies and showing a comparison chart against on of our packages. We run our servers on FreeBSD, which is a Unix-based operating system and is FREE, therefore our savings are passed on to you the customer. Being a Unix based operating system its security features and stability are rock solid, and the operating system of choice for many Web Hosting companies like ourselves. Unlike us, some of the hosting companies below offer Microsoft Windows® based hosting solutions. We choose not do so, as compared to FreeBSD Microsoft Servers are too much of a security risk to our customers, are less efficient, not to mention more costly.
Where possible, we've tried to make this a fair comparison. Our basic starter package contains 50MB of storage space, so we compared directly against that. The results are below!

Where possible we have set the currency to your local currency, for ease of comparison. These were a sample of various hosts, some UK based, some US based. We did compare a lot of other providers, but unfortunately just couldn't fit them on the page! Whilst some providers seem to have extra benefits, such as a domain name included (we charge an additional $12.30 at present for this), the price difference (in the case, in this example, of UK-Cheapest, $69.19 compared to $48.20, or $60.50 including the domain), it's not really worth the extra money. Also, in many cases with the smaller packages such as these that we've seen, they provide PHP, CGI etc access, but no MySQL databases. A database is usually the foundation for most discussion boards, e-commerce facilities, catalogues, portals, image galleries... the list goes on. Other web hosts we have discovered often put several hundred sites on one server - we guarantee that no more than 200 sites go on each machine, so your site will stay fast.
